Transforming Post Harvest Outcomes for African Farmers
At ZibaHarvest, we’re redefining what it means to preserve the harvest — not just for today, but for generations to come. Rooted in the meaning of “Aziban” (food, in the Akan language of Ghana), our mission is to empower smallholder farmers with affordable, off-grid preservation tools that extend the shelf life of their crops from just 3 days to up to 26 days.
To reduce post-harvest losses and increase farmer income through sustainable, locally-adapted innovations in cooling and drying.
We envision a future where every farmer, regardless of their location or resources, can bring fresher, higher-quality produce to market, reducing food waste and strengthening food security across Sub-Saharan Africa.
We’ve designed ZibaHarvest, a passive, solar-assisted food preservation box built from local materials, tailored for off-grid communities. It requires no grid electricity, cuts spoilage by over 60%, and offers farmers the time they need to store, transport, and sell their produce at better prices.
